 40-50# Reel, Reel for spiral wrap |

I building a 40-50# grouper stick . Going to try this simple spiral. I understand from surfing the forums that I need to get the reel as low to the blank as posible. Is there any way to find this spec.(reel hight) without just going to a large shop and lookig and measuring. Any one have a suggestion of a model that would work best.
